A women’s cricket team calling themselves the Jaffna Moolai Victory Sports Club beat Old Dharmapalians, Pannipitiya by four wickets to become champions in the Inter Club Super Sixes Women’s Cricket Tournament conducted by Colombo District Women’s Cricket Association (CDWCA) at President’s College, Rajagiriya recently.

Old Dharmapalians made 55 for the loss of one with skipper Chushadi Kaushalya scoring 19 and Jaffna Moolai Victory Sports Club made 60 for the loss of one wicket with T. Thivjanyali (25) and Tharushi Fernando (25 not out) steering their side to victory.
The winners received the Multilac trophy and the runners up the Macktiles trophy.
Samudra Sports Club Wennappuwa, Mihindu Sports Club Agalawatte, Old Dharmapalians Pannipitiya and Moolai Victory Sports Club Jaffna were the semi finalists.
The chief guest at the final was former Sri Lanka Test player Sidath Wettimuny.
Tharushi Fernando from Jaffna Moolai Victory SC won the player of the tournament prize while the player of the final was taken away by T. Thivjanyali.
The best bowler was J. Dewagi and the best wicket keeper prize went to T. Thivjanyali).
Old Dharmapalian players won awards for the best fielder (Pabasara Dewmini), highest numbers of 18 boundaries (Methuli Anjana), best catch (Chushadi Kaushalya and Wasana Sandamali) and best disciplined player (Chushadi Kaushalya).
