A 37-member delegation of the Korean Civil Service Buddhist Association, arrived in Sri Lanka recently to promote to create awareness on Sri Lanka Tourism to the high end travellers in Korea.
This was mainly a pilgrim tour for members of the Association and their families, which took place from July 29 to August 4.
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau welcomed the guests to the country.
Deputy Director, Tourism Information Centre, Ms. Harindra Wijewardene and Deputy Director Advertising and Marketing, Korea, Ms. Thanuja Muniweera were also present.
The delegation visited many Buddhist related locations during their stay such as attractions in Anuradhapura, Mihintale, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla Cave Temple, Matale Aluviharaya temple, and Kandy and an elephant safari.
The Korean guests also visited tea estates in Nuwara Eliya and in the South they Ahungalle beach (including the mangroves) and ended their tour in Colombo .
Sri Lanka has attracted over 5,000 Korean tourists to the country this year and will be promoting this market with many other activities to attract more Korean travellers.
