Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne graced the Employee Appreciation Ceremony to felicitate retired military veterans serving in Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Limited (RALL) at the Suhurupaya Auditorium in Battaramulla recently.

The RALL was founded in 2007 under the supervision of the Ministry of Defence with the aim of containing the services of retired war heroes towards the motherland.

This ceremony was organised to appreciate employees for their contributions and valuable service rendered to the organisation.

The Defence Secretary said that RALL despite facing challenges has been able to provide employment for thousands of the retired warheroes and help to uplift their livelihood standard.

He said that as a result of negotiations with a foreign company, interviews are underway to recruit 500 Sea Marshals for that company, and thousands of such opportunities will be made available in the future which will generate much needed foreign exchange.
