Aruna Athukorala was conferred the title – Honorary Fellow Member of the National Institute of Plantation Management (NIPM), Sri Lanka at its convocation at the BMICH, yesterday, August 17.
It was awarded to Athukorala for his notable service towards the tea industry over the years. Here the chief guest President, Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka, Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala presents the title to Athukorala. Aruna Athukorala, an alumnus of Stamford College, Singapore is a prominent figure in the tea industry.
He is an Executive Committee member of the Sri Lanka Tea Factory Owners’ Association and the Chairman and Managing Director of Athukorala Group (Pvt) Ltd. A former member of the NIPM Board of Governors, he has also pioneered plantation-oriented tourism.
