Women entrepreneurship and networking event concludes

The Women Entrepreneurship and Networking event organised by the Sri Lanka-Malaysia Business Council (SLMBC) in collaboration with Apex Endeavour Sdn Bhd was recently in Colombo.

Business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs were present.

Group Managing Director of Samaiden Group Berhad, Ms. IR Chow Pui Hee, delivered the keynote address on the vital role of women in driving sustainable business practices and the importance of cross-border partnerships.

As a leader in the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and power plants, Samaiden’s involvement in the event highlighted its commitment to sustainability and gender empowerment.

“The exchange of ideas and experiences during the event was inspiring, and I believe it will lead to meaningful partnerships that benefit Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Empowering women in business is essential for creating sustainable and innovative solutions that address the challenges of today,” she said.

A spokesperson for the Gruppe Lighting Solution Sdn Bhd said, “The Women Entrepreneurship and Networking event was an excellent platform for us to connect with potential partners in Sri Lanka. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead as we work towards promoting sustainable development through our innovative lighting solutions.”

President of SLMBC, M. H. K. M. Hameez said, “The success of this event demonstrates the growing potential for collaboration between our countries. By supporting women entrepreneurs, we are not only promoting gender equality but also contributing to the economic growth of both Sri Lanka and Malaysia. We look forward to seeing the long-term impact of these discussions.”

Director, Apex, Sridheevan Sivanantham said, “This event was a significant step forward in our efforts to support women entrepreneurs and foster cross-border partnerships. We are proud to have collaborated with SLMBC, Samaiden, and Gruppe to create a platform for meaningful dialogue and future business opportunities.”

High Commissioner of Malaysia, Badli Hisham Adam also spoke.
