Solar lanterns presented to workers in Ratotta estate

The houses being constructed at Ratotta Estate, Pitakanda in Matale are among 4,000 houses being constructed for estate workers under Phase III of the Indian Housing Project (IHP). The phase is nearing completion.

High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Santhosh Jha who visited the estate on August 20 distributed solar lanterns to the beneficiary households at the estate. The distribution will continue to cover all the 4,000 beneficiary households under Phase III of the IHP.

The distribution of solar lanterns is an initiative under the multi-sectoral grant assistance package of INR 750 million.
