The book ‘Tripartite Agreement that secured the employment of 3.5 million people’ authored by senior journalist Priyantha Pradeep Ranasinghe was launched at the auditorium of Sri Lanka Book Publishers’ Association, Battaramulla on Wednesday (August 21) under the patronage of Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
The book has focused on the historic tripartite agreement reached among trade unions, employers and the Ministry of Labour that paved the way to secure the employment of 3.5 million employees in the private sector during the Covid-19 pandemic (2020-2022).
The keynote address was delivered by former Secretary to the Ministry of Labour Mahinda Madihahewa.
