Healthcare provider Asiri Health has announces its role as the official Medical Partner for the ICA (Indian Cultural Association) International Half Marathon to be run in Colombo on September 1, 2024.
“Our involvement in this marathon is about more than just financial support,” said Nilanga Abeysinghe, Business Development Manager at Asiri Hospitals. “It’s about ensuring that every participant has access to the highest level of medical care, allowing them to focus on what they do best, running.”
Extensive pre-event preparations that include comprehensive health assessments for participants, first aid training workshops for volunteers and meticulous logistics coordination to ensure that medical supplies and personnel are strategically placed along the marathon route are part of the sponsorship according to Asiri Health.
On race day, eight fully equipped First Aid stations will be staffed by experienced doctors, nurses, and paramedics, with two ambulances on standby facilitating prompt medical intervention when needed.
“Our preparations have been thorough, ensuring that we are ready to respond to any situation that may arise during the marathon,” added Abeysinghe. “We are committed to safeguarding the health and well-being of every participant.”
The hospital will offer post-race medical evaluations and support for injured participants.
