Sri Lanka’s Woman Leaders Awards 2024 honours excellence in leadership at NCCSL

The Secretary General/CEO of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, Mrs. Nilupul Chandrasena has been recognized with the “Sri Lanka’s Woman Leaders”, title presented by the World Women Leadership Congress (WWLC) at the12th World Woman Leadership Awards 2024, held on September 5, at the Taj Samudra, Colombo.

The World Women Leadership Congress hosts the annual Woman Leadership Awards to identify and celebrate the outstanding leadership and achievements demonstrated by the women leaders that are reflected by the distinct contributions and initiatives brought in by them in various private and public sectors.

The 2024 award ceremony celebrated the success of several inspiring women leaders, reinforcing Sri Lanka’s commitment to empowering women and fostering an inclusive leadership culture.

This accolade celebrates Nilupul’s significant leadership roles and effective contributions throughout her career in Research, CRM, Branding / Marketing Management & QMS compliance auditing, whilst highlighting the significant role she plays at the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL). The National chamber has a history of 76 years and has a deep vision to serve the business community and revive Sri Lanka’s economic landscape focusing on the MSME sector.

Her achievement stands as a testament to her dedication to adhering to the best management practices, inclusivity and gender equality across the sectors. This recognition not only honors her individual accomplishments but also highlights the significant strides being made towards women empowerment initiatives, capacity building and membership service expansions spearheaded at the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in her capacity.

The criteria adopted in selection of women in leadership comprise of key aspects such as, Contribution in building a Sustainable Leadership Pipeline, Support and encouragement to gender, diversity and inclusion at work, Promotion of Empowerment and Social Change, Ability to influence policy and strategy and Optimal utilization of opportunities & resources.
