Sri Lanka’s goal shooting was off -target with several missed chances at scoring in their AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Cambodia that ended in a scoreless draw at the Racecourse Stadium in Colombo on Thursday.
The Sri Lankans came close to scoring especially in the first half but defended well when the visitors were attacking particularly in the second half. Oliver Kelaart and Wasim Raazik came close to breaking the deadlock but their kicks at goal were off target.
In the second half Sri Lanka slowed down the game but made a few advances when they had possession. Kelaart, Wade Darren and Govindarajah Rajamohan could not convert these advances into goals.
The teams will meet again in the second leg on September 10 in Cambodia.
