NPP Presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that some main Presidential candidates are trying to incite fear by spreading rumours that if the NPP wins, riots and conflicts will erupt in the country on September 22.
He was addressing a campaign rally in Kandy.
Dissanayake said that the Government headed by the NPP will demonstrate how a victory is celebrated peacefully on September 22, and guaranteed that not a fingernail of a citizen will be harmed after the victory.
“But these ruling groups have tried to raise the issue of religion on the political platform. We do not discuss Buddhism, Christianity, Islam or Hinduism or any faith on our platform to garner votes or to attack others,” he said.
