An eye camp was held at Royal College, Colombo on August 17 for the past teachers of the college under the patronage of the Royal College Group of 1970.

Eighteen teachers were selected for cataract surgery and were given a date for the operations at the Helpage Hospital. Some were selected for minor treatment while others were given pairs of spectacles. The eye camp was conducted from 7.00 am to 2.30 pm.

All patients were provided with breakfast and midday meals which was sponsored by the President of the ’70 Group, Gamini Wijith Hettiarachchi, and members Samantha Liyanawadu, Executive Director, Helpage Lanka, Dr. Wasantha Siriwardena and Jagath R. Ranawaka.

It was organised for the welfare of the past teachers of Royal College by the President of RCPTA, Dharmadasa Mahakumburage and the Executive Committee.
