The Meelad un Nabi celebrations and All- Island Quirath and Hifz Quran competition awards ceremony organised by the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo was held at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute, Colombo on Wednesday under the patronage of Cultural Counsellor of Iran, Dr. Bahman Moazami.
The chief guest at the ceremony, the Ambassador of Iran Dr. Alireza Delkosh and guest of honour, Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Department Director M.S.M. Nawas, Organising Committee Chairman Al Qari Nuhman Athas and religious leaders distributed awards and certificates to the winners of the competition.
Ambassador Delkosh also presented a memento to the Al Qari Nuhman Athas at the ceremony. Senior officials of the Embassy and the prize winners and their parents were also present.
