Four academics from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya including, Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva of the Department of Parasitology, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Emeritus Professor Janaka de Silva of the Department of Medicine, Professor Anuradhani Kasturiratne of the Department of Public Health, and Senior Professor Asita de Silva of the Department of Pharmacology, have been selected for the prestigious Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List 2024.
The academics were ranked among World’s Top 2% Scientists in the updated Science-wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators published on September 16, 2024.
The analysis was performed by a team from Stanford University, USA using Scopus data provided by Elsevier, honouring scientists who have made significant contributions to their fields and the broader research community.
Forty three Sri Lankan scholars from nine state universities and six institutes were included in the 2024 list, further elevating Sri Lanka’s standing in the global research community.
