The senior management of Swadeshi hands over the completed water project to the schoolchildren of Weerahela Junior School at Kohomba-gaha-pellessa, Tissamaharama

Swadeshi Khomba recently launched its “Swadeshi Khomba Gamata Sathkaraya” program to donate essential needs to the rural villages of Sri Lanka. As its first project of “Swadeshi Khomba Gamata Sathkaraya” program, Swadeshi Khomba donated a clean water facility to Weerahela Junior School at Kohomba-gaha-pellessa, Tissamaharama in the Hambantota district.

Swadeshi Chairperson Amari Wijewardene said, “We believe as a local company we should help our Sri Lankan future generations to improve their lifestyle and help have a healthier and happier new generation.”

The Principal of Weerahela Junior School said, “We appreciate this initiative by Swadeshi Khomba. Projects like this are invaluable to ensure to safeguard our children and make a healthier future generation.”

As a local company, Swadeshi continues its nation building and community CSR projects for our Sri Lankan communities. The Swadeshi Khomba brand is dedicated to carrying out sustainability projects which focus on caring for Mother Nature. The current effort is just one of the company’s many community outreach initiatives which also include the annual sponsorship of the ‘Aloka Poojawa’ at several historical places of worship around the island, under the theme of ‘Swadeshi Khomba Aloka Puja Sathkaraya’.
