IFS R&D ‘B’ team did well to beat Hemas Holdings by a narrow one point (50-49) in a Mercantile basketball game played at the Royal Sports Indoor courts as the championship got into top gear.
The scoring went either way in an interesting tussle but IFS R&D managed to lead by one basket at the final whistle.
Pramodh Christopher scored 17 vital points for Hemas while Hasan Nawas also scored 17 points for IFS R&D.
In another game MAS Holdings ‘B’ team also did well to beat Ceylon Tobacco by 57 points to 52 after trailing 25-27 at half time. Scorers for MAS were Dushmantha Gunawardana 18 and Mark Neson 13.
