Sri Lanka finish third and Asian Sevens

Sri Lanka finished third at the Asian Rugby Sevens that concluded in Nepal yesterday after losing to the Philippines 12-19 in a crucial game for a place in the Cup semi-finals.

The loss only gave Sri Lanka a chance to finish third when they beat Uzbekistan by 21 points to 19.

Day I results:

Men:

Sri Lanka beat Kazakhstan 43-0, Sri Lanka beat Qatar 37-5 and Sri Lanka beat Saudi Arabia 52-0.

Sri Lanka beat India 22 points to nil in the quarter-final.

Philippines beat Sri Lanka 19-12 in the semi-final.

Women:

India beat Sri Lanka 10-29, Sri Lanka beat Iran 20-0, Indonesia beat Sri Lanka 15-17, Sri Lanka beat Nepal 17-15.
