In an unprecedented scenario, over 5,000 athletes from schools across Sri Lanka contested the Ritzbury-sponsored John Tarbat athletic championships as Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa and Lyceum International School Wattala carried away the boys’ and girls’ championship titles respectively at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo on Thursday.
Lyceum International School bagged 182 points while Joseph Vaz College raked in 117 points.
Ratnayake Central College Walala with 147 points and Ave Maria Convent – Negombo with 77 points took the second and third places respectively in the girls’ segment while St Benedict’s College secured 77 points and Maris Stella College Negombo had 74 points to take second and third places in the boys segment.
