Sri Lanka to contest Asian table tennis

The Sri Lanka men’s and women’s table tennis teams took wing to contest the 27th Asian Table Tennis Championships scheduled to begin in Kazakhstan on October 7.

A total of 24 men’s team and 20 women’s teams will participate in this tournament to earn participation in the World Table Tennis Championship 2025.

The events to be worked off are men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles and the men’s and women’s singles.

The men’s team comprises Chameera Ginige (University of Sri Jayewardenepura), Imantha Udanjaya (Army), Chanul Dulsen (Old Sokains TT Club) and Janith Batugedara (Royal College).

The women’s team consists of Lesanya Sethumdee (Dharmasoka College), Maneesha Shalindi (Army), Shamalsha Dewmi (Holy Cross College Gampaha) and Mekayla Fernando (Elizabeth Moir School).
