Research conferences have become critical as the world becomes increasingly interconnected and technology advances rapidly. These gatherings serve as vital hubs where thought leaders and innovators converge to exchange ideas, collaborate, and expand the frontiers of knowledge.

The Interdisciplinary Conference of Management Researchers (ICMR), now in its ninth year, hosted by the Faculty of Management Studies at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, stands as a beacon of scholarly excellence.

This conference exemplifies the spirit of collaboration, merging AI and human intelligence to explore new dimensions in research and management studies.

The ninth ICMR will be held in a hybrid format at the Faculty of Management on November 27 and 28, 2024.

This event is designed to unite experts, practitioners, and researchers from diverse fields to stimulate the exchange of ideas, theories, and practices.

The conference aims to create a dynamic environment conducive to advancing contemporary research.

The highlight of the conference will be the presence of distinguished keynote speakers who will guide the discussions and inspire attendees to explore innovative research avenues.

Prof. T.C. Gamage – Professor of Marketing at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka

In addition, Prof. T.C. Gamage, a highly respected Professor of Marketing at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, will also share her insights. Prof. Gamage, aligning her talk with the conference theme, will reflect on the unexplored potential of AI, similar to an iceberg: “AI is like an iceberg; we see only the tip and still don’t know how much we truly know. We have yet to grasp its full capabilities.

Therefore, we must remain vigilant, exploring how AI can foster synergy in management research while being cautious about potential risks”. Her perspective will encourage attendees to approach AI with thoughtfulness, considering its decisive role in shaping the future of research.

The ninth ICMR will also showcase groundbreaking research from national and international researchers, fostering dynamic discussions on current management challenges and opportunities.

The organisers have curated an inclusive and intellectually stimulating platform for exploring emerging trends, exchanging insights, and addressing complex issues by collaborating with human expertise and artificial intelligence.
