Bloomfield Cricket Club unanimously elected a team of new office bearers for 2024/25 at their Annual General Meeting held at the Club premises last month.

Ranjan de Silva took over the presidency of the club from Niral Kadawatharatchie who relinquished the position after a successful tenure.

De Silva is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK and has more than three decades of Senior Corporate Management experiences in the private sector.

He is also a Past Chairman of the Ceylon Motor Traders Association, the Imports Section of the Ceylon Chamber and the Sri Lanka-China Business Council, all affiliated to the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

De Silva is the son-in-law of late Shelley Wickremasinghe, who rendered yeomen service to Bloomfield as its President during three terms over a span of 25 years.

Upon being elected as President of the Club, De Silva spoke with great appreciation of the development work carried out by the outgoing Executive Committee led by immediate past President Niral Kadawatharatchie whose efforts during his term enabled the club take make giant strides in raising the standard of the club.
