Mercantile basketball in full swing

WSO2 Lanka did well to beat MAS Holdings during extra time after the scores were 50-50 at full time in the Mercantile basketball tournament currently taking place at the Royal Indoor Sports Complex.

After extra time WSO2 managed to get past the score recorded by MAS Holding with just one player in Jarad Fernando taking the responsibility and scored the baskets to earn the win.

WSO2 Lanka beat MAS Holdings A 50-50 and extra time 59-57.

Scorer for WSO2 was Jarad Fernando 47 pts.

Scorers for MAS Holdings A were Waheesan S 17, Joshua Siriwardene 17 and Azeem Ameen 11.

In another exciting game Union Bank came back from 29-40 points down at half time to nearly catch up on the score obtained by DFCC Bank and fell short by just two points 71-73 at full time.

Scorers for DFCC were Prageeth Pushpakumara 22, Roshan Fernando 13 and Brian Wijewickrama 12.

Scorers for Union Bank were Jude Perera 25, Anushka Jayalath 18 and Maheel Egodawatte 18.

Azeem Ameen made use of his ability to score at will to help MAS Holding beat Commercial Bank 74-67 at full time.

Scorers for MAS Holdings were Azeem Ameen 38, Ismail Salahudeen 13 and Pulashisi Jayathilaka 13.

Scorers for Commercial Bank were Kavin Kumaran 28, Nissanka Suwaris 16 and Lochana Basnayake 10.

LSEG beat Hemas Holdings 64-18. Scorers for LSEG were Dinara Perera 14, Sakila Wijesinghe 12, Steve Willatagamuwa 11 and Indeepa Maddumage 11.

Scorer for Hemas Holdings was Pramodh Christopher 10.

DIMO beat MAS Holdings B by 63 points to 39.

Scorers for DIMO were Tharindu Fernando 29 and Lahiru Senasinghe 14.

Scorer for MAS was Matthew Senn 12.

Creative Software beat Ceylon Tobacco 67 points to 47.

Scorers for Creative Software were Maithree Pathirana 21 and Chamod Kaldera 10.

Scorers for Ceylon Tobacco were Inam Ameen 26 and Chinthaka W. 10.

Aitken Spence beat IFS R&D ‘A’ 73-45.

Scorers for Aitken Spence were Ishan Lawrance 20, Agraja Perera 18 and Pasindu Liyanagama 16.

Scorers for IFS R&D ‘A’ were Trewon Weerasooriya 16 and Dinith Pathirage 13.

Abans PLC beat Commercial Bank 83-60. Scorers for Abans were Osanda Amarasena 26, Kanchana Gunasekara 24 and Nikithra Dalpathado 10.

Scorers for Commercial Bank were Lochana Basnayake 21 and Kavin Kumaran 19.

Dimo beat Wiley Global 77-30. Scorers for DIMO were Lahiru Senasinghe 28, Tharindu Fernando 17 and Dhananjaya Gunawardene 16.

Scorer for Wiley Global was Richard Yogarathnam 11.

Creative Software beat Contrinex Ceylon 85-44. Scorers for Creative Software were Maithree Pathirana 23 and Racsan Chandrakumar 16.

Scorer for Contrinex Ceylon was Nadeera Jayasiri 27.

SriLankan Airlines beat HSBC 81-50. Scorers for SriLankan Airlines were Rayan Jayaratna 39, Aaran Gomes 18 and Buddhi 18.

Scorers for HSBC were Sithum 18 and Andrew Wijesuriya 11.

IFS R&D ‘A’ beat WSO2 Lanka 56-32. Scorer for IFS was Dinith Pathirage 18. Scorer for WSO2 was Jared Fernando 15.

Nations Trust Bank kept their trust in their players who did well to maintain a slender lead and beat David Pieris Group 58-54 at full time in a women’s encounter. They led by just one point at half time 27-26.

Standard Chartered Bank beat WSO2 Lanka 45-39. Scorers for Standard Chartered Bank were Hasini Ariyarathne 27 and Melloney Dassanayake 14.

Scorers for WSO2 Lanka were Gayathri Madhavi 18 and Samudra Weerasinghe 14.

IFS R&D International beat MAS Holdings 38-29. Scorers for IFS were Buddhika Kulasuriya 11 and Gaganie Silva 9. Scorer for MAS was Amada Siriwardana 11. (TBR)
