Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Pvt) Limited (AASL) has reiterated its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and security for all passengers and crew in light of the recent incidents regarding the bomb scare on Vistara flights on October 19 and 24 at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
Chairman of Airport and Aviation, Air Chief Marshal (Rtd) Harsha Abeywickrema said, “As Sri Lanka’s civil airport operator, we prioritise the safety and security of our valued passengers and airport users in close coordination with all relevant safety and security authorities.”
He said, “We operate in full compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, adhering strictly to internationally recognised protocols to manage and respond to such situations effectively. Passengers and airport users are rest assured that their safety remains our utmost priority.”
