AIA Sri Lanka has renewed its ISO 14064-1:2018 Greenhouse Gas Emissions certification for the second consecutive year, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to sustainability and environmental leadership in Sri Lanka’s insurance industry.

This certification reflects AIA’s dedication to reducing its carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions, adhering to the highest international standards and rigorous qualification processes.

AIA Insurance has once again demonstrated its capability to measure and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, driving comprehensive engagement across the organisation. The company has continued to implement a variety of initiatives, including the adoption of paperless services, energy-efficient lighting and equipment and the use of renewable energy sources.

“We are delighted to achieve the ISO 14064-1:2018 certification for the second year running, a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility,” said Chathuri Munaweera, CEO of AIA Insurance.

“At AIA, we are dedicated to implementing sustainable practices that not only reduce our environmental impact but also contribute to a healthier, greener future for all.”

She said, “While environmental certifications may not be commonplace in the financial sector, for AIA, this achievement resonates deeply with our mission of helping people live healthier, longer, better lives. This certification signifies more than a recognition; it reaffirms our commitment to sustainability.”
