Abeywickrama and Jayathilake win Charity golf titles

Former Air Force chief Harsha Abeywickrama emerged winner with an overall Gross Score of 35 Stableford points while Rohan Amirthiah emerged the overall Nett Score winner with 48 Stableford points at the eighth annual Dialog Enterprise Rotary Metro Par 3 Charity Golf Classic, held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the RCGC golf course.

Abeywickrama played immaculate golf under suitable conditions to emerge on top of the scoring on a course transformed into a unique Par 3 playground.

The tournament organised by the Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan in partnership with the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), once again attracted enthusiastic support from players and sponsors alike, all united in a shared mission to uplift underprivileged children across Sri Lanka.

The event for women was won by none other than the flamboyant Niloo Jayathilake who did well to obtain 47 points having played very good golf.

She is the official in charge of development of golf among the youth in the country and deservedly won an important event.

Each year, the Dialog Enterprise Rotary Metro Par 3 Charity Golf Classic solidifies its reputation as a much-awaited event in the golfing calendar, bringing the community together for a more significant cause.

Results:

The tournament awarded players across various divisions with standout performances as follows:

* Overall Gross Winner: Harsha Abeywickrama – 35 Points
* Overall Nett Winner: Rohan Amirthiah – 48 Points

Division A (Handicap 0 to 9)

* Winner: Lalith Rohith – 40 Points
* Runner-Up: Nisantha Perera – 37 Points

Division B (Handicap 10 to 18)

* Winner: Noel Selvanayagam- 42 Points (Back Nine)
* Runner-Up: Afflli Raheem – 42 Points

Division C (Handicap 19 to 28)

* Winner: Siddi Farook – 45 Points
* Runner-Up: Saliya Jayaweera- 39 Points (Back Nine)

Women’s Division

* Winner: Niloo Jayathilake – 47 Points
* Runner-Up: Mavali Weerasinghe- 45 Points
