Sri Lanka Rugby, the parent body governing the sport in the island will find itself in a make or break situation on Wednesday, November 6 when the Court of Appeal will deliver its verdict on the future of its administration which is currently under a government authority after its failure to conduct an election of office bearers last May.
Two factions are currently in a tussle to prove what is right in administration and given time by World Rugby to thrash out matters or face an international ban.
World Rugby has given Sri Lanka time until January 31, 2025 to put in place a new Constitution that falls in line with the international rugby fraternity. Sri Lanka Rugby was probably the cleanest functioning sports body in the country before it was politicized a decade ago that led to the current stand-off between factions jostling for position.
