The Senior Prefects’ Investiture Ceremony of Zahira College Colombo took place on October 23 at Ghafoor Hall, honouring the dedication and leadership of the newly appointed prefect body. This annual event is a cherished tradition, symbolizing the trust and responsibility placed on the young leaders of Zahira College.

The ceremony began with an inspiring welcome speech by Deputy Head Prefect Master Yoosuf Arshad, who set the tone for the evening with words of encouragement and appreciation for the school community. Arshad’s speech highlighted the importance of unity and commitment among the prefects as they embark on their leadership journey.

Following this, the prefects took the stage in a ceremonial march, welcomed by the applause of their peers, parents, and teachers. Principal Trizviiy Marikkar addressed the gathering, congratulating the prefects and emphasizing the significance of their roles. “As senior prefects, you carry forward the legacy of Zahira College Colombo. Leadership is a responsibility that requires integrity, self-discipline, and dedication. You are role models for your peers and ambassadors of our school’s values,” he stated. Afterwards the Immediate past head prefect of Zahira College Umar Asrri delivered an inspirational speech which was also his last speech as the Head Prefect of Zahira College.

The highlight of the ceremony was the official investiture, where each prefect received their badge as a symbol of their commitment to serve the school community. Newly Appointed Head Prefect Abraar Rimzan and Deputy Head Prefect Mohamed Umar Nazeerdeen also addressed the gathering.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks. The newly appointed senior prefects exited Ghafoor Hall with pride, prepared to fulfil their duties and meet the expectations of the college community.

Vice Principal Zeenath Ismail, Old Boys Association President Mohamed Cassim, and Past Prefects Association President Ahsan Munaf were also present.
