Lanka Spice (Pvt) Ltd, the company behind the spice brand Mc Currie continues its commitment to uplift the community through the ‘Senehase Daeth’ initiative.

This time, the focus was on the third project under the initiative at W/J Vidyadana Maha Vidyalaya in Kottawa, Pannipitiya, where the school was provided with library books and library tables.

The ‘Senehase Daeth’ initiative, launched to support schools with limited resources, aims to promote equitable access to education. Following this criteria, W/J Vidyadana Maha Vidyalaya was selected as the beneficiary school.

Acting Chief Marketing Officer of Lanka Spice, Varuna Karunaratne said, “Reading is indeed a valuable habit that not only enriches knowledge but also empowers individuals to lead more fulfilling lives and contribute positively to society. As a socially responsible organisation, we at Lanka Spice (Pvt) Ltd understand the value of education in shaping future generations.”

Principal of Vidyadana Maha Vidyalaya, K. M. S. Chandana said, “The support from Lanka Spice is a lifeline for our students. It will significantly improve the quality of education they receive, allowing them to thrive in an environment that previously lacked essential resources.”

Emphasising the company’s long-term vision, Karunaratne said, “In line with our commitment, we will continue to support the educational development of Sri Lankan school children.

Through our ‘SenehaseDaeth’ initiative, we aim to further expand our efforts in promoting social welfare and community well-being. By fostering a love for reading and learning, we hope to contribute to building a more informed and responsible society.” Lanka Spice is set to further expand the ‘Senehase Daeth’ initiative with a series of forward-thinking projects focused on sustainable educational development.

The company also plans to introduce mentorship programs, partnering with schools to provide industry knowledge and help students build essential life and career skills.
