Minod Bhanuka
Sri Lanka and Fairfirst Insurance batsman Minod Bhanuka slammed the first double century in the ongoing MCA Super Premier League 2024 as he made a smashing 232 off 148 balls.
Bhanuka clouted 20 sixes and 13 fours against CDB Finance, at the Bloomfield ground to almost single handedly help the defending league champions, Fairfirst Insurance to post 345 for 9 in 50 overs and win by 181 runs.
Super League debutants, Maliban Biscuits remains as the only unbeaten side winning three matches on the trot, beating Fairfirst Insurance, Sri Lanka Cricket XI and HNB.
Besides Bhanuka’s double ton, notable batting performances came from Milinda Siriwardena from Maliban Biscuits (118 not out off 65 balls with eight sixes and seven fours and Vimath Dimsara from SLC XI (101 in 99 balls with three sixes and nine fours).
