Kandy SC gears for League

Kandy Sports Club, the most successful rugby club winning the league and knockouts on many occasions is expected to come out with another competitive side this season too.

Kandy SC failed to retain the League title last season as they lost to CR and FC in the decider.

A product of Isipathana College and former national Sevens captain Srinarth Sooriyabandara will lead and the Rugby Committee with head coach Fazil Marija, forwards coach Henry Terrence, team manager Kapila Silva and trainer Tharaka Algama backing up.

Trinity basketball

Trinity College’s basketball team enjoyed a good season and their main achievements were emerging champions in the U-17 and U-20 tournaments held at St. Anthony’s Girls College courts.

The U-17 team beat St. Sylvester’s 59-7 in the semi-final and Kingswood 64-61 in the final.

Their U-20 team beat Colombo International School 47-24 in the semi-final and beat Gateway College Kandy 24-2 in the final.
