Gamini Engineering Works (Pvt) Ltd and HWT Engineering Solutions (Pvt) Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at its headquarters for a 400kw solar project in Ambatale recently.
Chairman and Managing Director of Gamini Engineering Works, Sanka K. Gunasekera and Chairman HWT Engineering Solutions, Nissanka Senevirathne signed the MoU.
Gamini Engineering Works is a pioneer in plantation machinery. It was set up in 1977 and is equipped with a full-fledged foundry division while HWT Engineering Solutions provides professional services in the automation industry in engineering design and services as well as in the supply and installation of solar PV products for the domestic and industrial market in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
Gamini Engineering Works commenced business by manufacturing bricks and tiles and saw milling machinery during the late 70s and diversified into manufacturing and servicing of rubber processing machinery in the mid 80s and further diversified into the manufacture of machinery for the tea plantations in the late 90s.
They are into diverse fields such as marine engineering, confectionery, ceramic, printing, leather, corrugated coir and oil expelling. Operations Manager of HWT, T. A. Meedin, CEO of Gamini Engineering, Nalin A. Ratnayake, Managing Director of HWT, Hashan Ratnayake and Chief Engineer Special Projects of HWT, Chamara Gunasinghe were also present.
