Floods hit 277 families in Kurunegala

A discussion was held on Friday, November 29 under the patronage of Kurunegala District Secretary R.M.R. Rathnayake at the District Secretariat to take steps to face prevailing floods in Kurunegala.

Officers of the Tri-forces, Police, Irrigation Department, Ceylon Electricity Board, Urban Development Authority, Meteorological Department, Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Services and National Housing Development Authority were present.

The measures to be taken immediately to face the situation were discussed. According to Deputy Director, District Disaster Management, Viraj Dissanayake, the number of affected families in the Kurunegala district is 277 comprising 757 members.
