League champs Maliban favourites to win MCA Knock-out title

Maliban Biscuits who finished winners of the League stage is once again considered firm favourites to win the Knock-out stage as well, at the Singer MCA Super Premier tournament now in progress.

The MCA Super Premier tournament is conducted in three stages, namely the League that was concluded, Knock-out and the T20. Only the four top teams from the League stage will move on to play in the Knock-out stage.

Maliban Biscuits will take on Hayleys Group and Fairfirst Insurance will confront CDB Finance in the two semi finals.

The T20 will have only six teams in two groups and play on a league format first and the first two teams of each group will advance to the criss-cross semi-final.

The Knock-out is set to be played from December 5.

Special awards will be presented to the best batsman, best bowler and man of the series.

Janmesh Anthony the Marketing Director of Singer Sri Lanka presented the sponsorship cheque to the MCA president Mahesh de Alwis at a media briefing held at the MCA Legends Wing on Tuesday.
