Defending champs Colombo South enter semi final stage

Unbeaten defending champions Colombo South U-15 entered the semi-finals of the Prima – Sri Lanka Youth League U-15 cricket tournament.

Colombo South recorded three wins from three matches and leads the points table with six points so far.

They have beaten Colombo North U-15, Kandy and Dambulla and will meet Galle U-15 in their last fixture of the first round.

Kandy U-15 recorded only two wins from four matches in the first round beating Galle U-15 and Colombo North. They lost to Colombo South and against Dambulla ended without a result. Kandy has advanced to the semi-final. The tournament was postponed to December 2 due to wet weather last Wednesday.

Dambulla U-15 only won against Galle U-15 and was placed third in the points table after three matches. Dambulla lost to Colombo South and the match against Kandy ended without result.

Colombo North and Galle have not recorded a win so far. Their encounter ended in a tie according to the DLS method.

Colombo North will meet Dambulla and Galle will meet Colombo South in their last fixtures of the first round on Monday (2) at Thurstan and Royal College grounds.

The semi-finals will be played on December 4 and final on December 6.
