The inaugural Mrs. Femme International Sri Lanka involving participants from over 50 countries would be held in Sri Lanka next year, bringing the destination the much-needed marketing value.

Founder of Mrs. Femme International, Mohini Sharma told Sunday Observer Business that this was the first time such a Mrs. World event was being organised outside of Europe and the US and even outside Asia. Sri Lanka has been selected this time around to host the event.

“We have been planning the event for a long time. However, Sri Lanka’s situation, the economic downturn, and the recent successive elections did not alter the plans to host the event in Sri Lanka.

“As expected during the planning stages, Sri Lanka recovered from these scenarios and its now in an even better position than before with more stability to host an event of this magnitude. The organisers were excited to bring the competition to this vibrant nation, where women’s rights and women’s empowerment were key focuses, making it the ideal location for our next season. Known for its rich culture and scenic beauty, Sri Lanka will provide the perfect backdrop for the next season of the pageant”, Sharma said.

The free visa on arrival offered to Indian tourists is very good air connectivity, acceptance of Indian payment systems, the high standard of hotels and the fact that India is the number one source market for tourism for Sri Lanka along with its friendly people were some of the key points that went in favour of the island, when we decided to pick a venue,” he said.

“This will permit us not only to attract a large Indian audience but participants from other countries as well,” Sharma said.

“Representatives from over 50 countries are expected to participate and they will all bring their families, friends and the media from these countries, making it one of the largest MICE events to be held in Sri Lanka next year,” Sharma added.

Mrs. Femme International Season 2 will feature various exciting segments, including talent shows, community initiatives and the grand finale. The event will showcase the pageant’s core values of empowerment, leadership and global unity while celebrating the achievements of women from around the world.

During the Indian Mrs. Femme International selection pageant, Niesa Kolakhe was crowned the inaugural winner and will travel to Sri Lanka for the event.

The pageant celebrates women from all walks of life and honoured Kolakhe for her outstanding advocacy and leadership. Her victory marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Mrs. Femme International competition which aims to empower women and promote gender equality worldwide.

As the inaugural titleholder, Kolakhe plans to use her platform to continue advocating for women’s rights and gender equality. She is committed to working with global organisations to bring about positive change and to encourage other women to pursue their dreams and leadership roles.

“This title gives me a unique platform to continue my advocacy for women’s empowerment, education, and equality. I am excited to use this opportunity to inspire women around the world and make a tangible difference in their lives,” Kolakhe said.
