The Lincoln Institute of Graduate Studies (LIGS), Sri Lanka, serves as the official branch campus of Lincoln University College (LUC), Malaysia, combining the academic excellence of a globally ranked university with the accessibility of local education.

Lincoln University College (LUC), Malaysia, recognized for its academic excellence and international reputation is ranked 185th in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025. Its membership in the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and inclusion in the World Higher Education (WES) Database highlight its global standing. LUC with its 5* Setara Rating is recognized by the World Health Organization depicting its universal acceptance.

The recognition by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka affirms the credibility and quality of the programs offered by LUC. The Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) recognizes the Medical Faculty of LUC, providing Sri Lankan students the opportunity to pursue Medical Degree Programs at LUC. The selected local candidates benefit from a 50% funded scholarship, making this initiative more accessible and affordable for deserving students.

LIGS: A hub for comprehensive education

As LUC’s Sri Lankan branch, LIGS offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Allied Health Sciences, Applied Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Social Sciences, and Management. Currently hosting 2,000 students, LIGS provides a multidisciplinary education guided by a highly qualified academic panel, blending theory with practical insights. The institute offers state-of-the-art facilities, including modern lecture halls, science laboratories, a nursing skill lab, a library, and an auditorium. This infrastructure supports LIGS’s goal of delivering a holistic academic experience.

The collaborations with Government Radiological Technologists Association, Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) Union of Sri Lanka, The Society of Government Pharmacists in Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka College of Medical Laboratory Science (MLT) and Academy of Health Professionals and the Government Nursing Officer’s Association has strengthened the university branch campus establishment in Sri Lanka.

PhD Programs and Research Culture

To meet the growing demand for advanced qualifications, LIGS offers PhD programs at special scholarship rates, empowering scholars to achieve their academic and professional aspirations. LUC offers special grants for doctoral and post-doctoral programmes for students enrolling through LIGS. Dr. Roshan De Lima, Director International for LUC who currently steers the LUC operations in Sri Lanka, UAE, and Maldives said, “As an educationist myself, the main guidance we can provide for our next generation is to nurture professionally qualified individuals in a disciplined environment.
