A job fair organised by the Manpower and Employment Department and the Kurunegala District Secretariat in collaboration with all Divisional Secretariats in the Kurunegala district was held at the District Secretariat premises on December 5 under the patronage of District Secretary R.M.R. Rathnayake. There are a large number of vacancies for various positions in the private sector.
District Secretary Rathnayake said that the main objective of the program was to overcome the unemployment problem of youth through proper coordination with the authorities in the state and the private sectors. Officers of the Tri-Forces, Dialog, Union Assurance, Foreign Employment Bureau, insurance establishments and garment factories and training institutes such as NAITA, Hotel School and Technical Colleges extended their cooperation to make the job fair a success.
Kurunegala Additional District Secretaries Ruwan Jayasundara and Aruna Priyankara and around 500 unemployed youth were present.
