Golfer Adithya gains laurels in India

Sri Lanka’s Adithya Weerasinghe impressed at the IGU All India Junior Golf Championship, securing 15th place with a gross score of 297 after a composed one-over-par final round at the demanding Karnataka Golf Association course in Bangalore, India, on Friday.

The 15-year-old golfer from Anuradhapura, playing in only his second international event, showed remarkable composure and consistency throughout the challenging four-round tournament, marking a promising milestone in his budding career.

Fellow Sri Lankan Reshan Algama made a resilient comeback after a tough mid-tournament stretch, carding a one-over-par final round to finish 20th with a gross score of 308.

In Category B, Thejas Rathiskanth gained valuable tournament experience, concluding his campaign tied for 20th with a gross score of 327.

India’s Karthik Singh emerged as the overall champion, posting a phenomenal gross score of 275 to secure the title across both Category A and B. In Category A, Krish Chawla and Angad Singh tied for the top spot with impressive scores of 284.
