Milk is a nutritious food for the young and old alike. It’s essential for small children. Milk is taken from the cows. Besides the cows, the milk is also taken from sheep and goats. Goat milk is expensive. The doctor advises patients to drink at least two glasses of milk every day.

In deserts there are no cows. People drink camel’s milk. Milk is a palatable food for the sick and invalids as well. Milk can be turned into curd. We get curd mostly from Hambantota and Tissamaharama. Butter is also produced from milk.

In New Zealand, Denmark and Australia, milk is their major export product. There are big, well-kept dairies in those countries.
