Sri Pada pilgrimage season begins

The Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak) pilgrimage season began yesterday, Unduvap Full Moon Poya Day, with thousands of devotees making the arduous climb to the top to worship the Sacred Footprint of the Buddha and to witness the Ira Sevaya (Sunrise). The season will end on Vesak Full Moon Poya Day next year (May 12).
