This week’s Shutter Stories is dedicated to Dinuli Fransisco’s pictorial-essay.

1.When I walk home, I always pass this house with its wall covered in moss and algae, framed by a lush green tree draping over the gate. This scene stirs a vivid memory of something I’ve read in a novel, though neither the title nor the scene itself comes to mind. Still, there’s an unshakable sense of familiarity I feel every time I see it.

2. This was taken in Ahangama, where I visited two German friends who have made this crimson sanctuary their home. Nestled amidst lush greenery, it exudes a quiet charm that feels like a world away.

3. This feels like the ideal spot to have a soul-vibrating conversation with a dearest one, and I captured this during my last visit to Mirissa. Time slows, and peace finds you here.

4. As soon as I stepped out of the vehicle to enter the house of my German friend in Ahangama, their entrance revealed an open gateway that invites you to wander barefoot on the soft earth.

5. This picture brings to mind the dichotomy of nature: the rustic, weathered walls meet the vibrant embrace of nature’s palette.

6. As soon as I stepped out of my yoga class, this was the view — the ground greeted me with a burst of pink blossoms against earthy greens.

7. Flying over India’s glowing cities, I was struck by how endless the lights seemed. It reminded me of how small we are in this huge universe, yet how much we can do in our own little worlds.
