Hayleys PLC won the ‘Cyril Gardiner Memorial Trophy’ Gold Award for Overall Excellence in Corporate Reporting at the CA Sri Lanka TAGS Awards 2024 recently.
Winning 20 awards across the Group this year, Hayleys exemplifies its collective commitment to enhancing the credibility, transparency, and relevance of its reporting.
Chairman and Chief Executive of Hayleys, Mohan Pandithage said, “We are delighted to receive this recognition again, demonstrating our commitment to the four pillars of transparency, accountability, governance and sustainability. These principles are embedded in the way we run our business and this is demonstrated in the quality of our reports.”
Hayleys PLC also clinched Gold Awards for Sustainability Reporting, Integrating Reporting, Corporate Governance Disclosure (Non-Financial Services) and Diversified Holdings companies with a turnover of over Rs. 50 billion.
The Group won 13 Gold Awards which included sector wins by Alumex, Haycarb, Hayleys Advantis, Hayleys Fentons Limited, Horana Plantations and Kelani Valley Plantations, Singer (Sri Lanka) and Singer Finance (Lanka).
With the increasing complexity of stakeholders’ information needs and significant shifts in the corporate reporting landscape, Hayleys has focused on increasing accessibility of its report through the use of digital platforms, improving reporting processes including materiality assessment and stakeholder engagement and strengthening credibility of disclosures through a combined assurance model.
The Group also aligned with the latest global developments in sustainability reporting with the early adoption of the SLFRS S1 and S2 Sustainability Reporting Standards.
