Asian Development Board and Ceylon Electricity Board signed a US$200 million loan agreement for the Power System Strengthening and Renewable Energy Integration Project for the Ceylon Electricity Board and Lanka Electricity Company,.
This will help to upgrade Sri Lanka’s, power sector infrastructure, enhancing reliability of transmission and distribution networks and facilitating the integration of renewable energy.
The guarantee for this was signed by Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, K. M. Mahinda Siriwardana.
ADB Country Director for Sri Lanka Takafumi Kadono symbolically presented the agreement to Finance Ministry Secretary K. M. Mahinda Siriwardana.
