This joyous occasion brought together graduates, faculties, families, and distinguished guests to honour achievements of the students across 126 academic programmes, ranging from Diploma courses to Doctoral degrees. The ceremony reflected MSU’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and the transformative power of education.

The convocation was graced by the Chancellor of the MSU, Raja Muda of Kedah, His Royal Highness Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin, alongside, Prof. Dr. Mohd Shukri, President of the MSU, Prof. Dr. Junainah Abd Hamid, Vice Chancellor of the MSU, Senate members of the MSU and senior members of the university leadership. The two-day graduation celebration highlighted many noteworthy moments, including the presentation of honorary awards, the conferment of degrees and diplomas, and special recognition for academic excellence.

Graduates from the Diploma programmes, such as the Diploma in Biomedical Science and the Diploma in Computer Science, joined their peers from diverse fields, including Business Management, Healthcare, Engineering, and Hospitality, in celebrating this significant milestone.

Among the highlights of the ceremony were the achievements of PhD graduates, who demonstrated MSU’s dedication to achieving research and innovation. Under the continuous guidance of MSU’s esteemed faculty members, the PhD graduates have completed a structured process that included the defence of their research proposals, thesis work completion seminars, and the final defence of viva voce examination.

In addition, all the PhD candidates are required to publish two Scopus journal articles and one international journal article before the viva voce examination. Their doctoral hoods, awarded during the convocation, symbolised their hard-earned transition into the realm of advanced scholarship and research excellence.

The convocation also highlighted MSU’s international footprint through its offshore campus Management & Science Institutes (MSI) in Colombo, recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka and accredited by the Sri Lankan Medical Council (SLMC).

As a globally recognised institution and a QS World University Ranked university, MSU remains steadfast in its mission to produce graduates who are not only academically excellent but also highly employable.

By incorporating international exposure, industrial training, and personal enrichment components into its programmes, MSU ensures that its graduates are equipped with right skills, knowledge, and global perspectives needed to excel in an ever-evolving world.

The convocation served as a powerful reminder of the university’s vision to empower individuals and communities through education, reflecting MSU’s holistic approach to nurturing future-ready professionals.

MSI provides programmes that align with international standards, ensuring its graduates well-prepared for global opportunities. Students who have completed their Diploma and Bachelor’s degree programmes through MSI Colombo, including those in Hospitality, Business Management, Biomedical Science, and Event Management, joined the celebration, marking a significant step forward in their academic and professional journeys.

Throughout the celebration, graduates expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the families, mentors, and peers who supported them throughout their academic journeys. The emotional atmosphere underscored the collective effort and dedication that fuelled their success. As one graduate shared, “This degree is not just for me—it is for my parents, my mentors, and everyone who believed in me.”

The 34th Convocation Ceremony was more than a celebration of academic accomplishments; it marked the beginning of new opportunities for MSU graduates to shape the future.

With knowledge as their foundation and determination as their guide, these graduates stand ready to make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond. Congratulations to all graduates-your journey has only just begun, and the world awaits your leadership, innovation, and excellence.
