Press Association honours 10 journalists

Ten veteran media personalities who have rendered a yeoman service to the journalism field were honoured at the 69th anniversary convention of the Sri Lanka Press Association (SLPA) and the D. F. Kariyakarawana Memorial Journalism Awards held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Auditorium, Colombo on December 17. The veterans who were felicitated were Daya Lankapura, V. Thanabalasingham, J. Sheela Wickramarathna, P. B. Ilangasinghe, Upali Arambewala, N. M. Ameen, Stanley Samarasinghe, S. S. Selvanayagam, Thusitha Malalasekara and Alexander Balasuriya. Upali Arambewala did not attend the awards ceremony due to his ill health.
