Three schoolgirl netball players will receive sponsorships for one year with supplies of stationary and other requirements following a decision taken by Eva and ICL Brands who are the sponsors of the Eva All Island Netball Tournament that will take place on January 11 and 12, 2025 at the Air Force ground in Colombo 2.
This gigantic and much looked forward to event called the Eva All Island and Open Schools’ Netball tournament is organized by the Western Province Netball Association and will be sponsored by Eva and ICL Brands for the 30th successive year.
The event will see the participation of both women’s and men’s teams but the majority of 90 per cent will be female players according to the organisers.
“This annual tournament has always been about creating equal opportunities for children to compete in prestigious sporting events. Its league format ensures every team play multiple games, while the national selectors scout for young talent.
“Eva’s support has been invaluable, making this one of the most popular tournaments in the country,” said Caryll Tozer the president of the Western Province Netball Association.
Entries for the tournament close on January 6, 2025 and teams can register up to 12 players and three officials.

The tournament has been approved by the Ministry of Education for schools in the Western Province while schools from other provinces are also welcome according to the organisers.
The tournament will feature four divisions; Division A, comprising Open Women’s and Open Men’s categories, Division B, for women only that will exclude national players, the veterans’ division for women over 40 years and the schools division for under-15, 17 and 19 players. No entry fees will be charged from school teams.
