A ceremony to present awards to cricketers who excelled last season was held at Adam La Reception Hall in Hatton by the Nuwara Eliya District Cricket Association recently.
Sri Lanka Youth cap Supun Waduge (Old boy Poramadulla Central College), Super Provincial player Tony Creig (Holy Trinity College Nuwara Eliya) and Women’s Super Provincial player Gimhani Ratnayake (Poramadulla Central) were awarded at this ceremony.
Sri Lanka Youth cap Supun Waduge who started playing cricket at Poramadulla Central joined Trinity College Kandy later to further his career.
Sasmika Dissanayaka (Gamini Dissanayake National School Kotmale) and Sageeth Liyanarachchi (Ginigathhena Central) were awarded best batsman and best bowler awards in the U-13 level.
Sanjanitha Wickramarathna (Weerasekara National School), Yasith Sandeeptha (Diyathilaka Central), K.H. Rakshan Nimesh (Gamini Central, Nuwara Eliya) and Yashika Nimsara (Diyathilaka Central) were awarded as best batsman, best bowler (fast), best bowler (spin) and player of the year in the U-15 level.
Andun Adeesha Nimnada (Poramadulla Central) was awarded two awards being the best bowler (fast) and player of the year in the U-17 level. Chadupa Kuruppuarachchi (Poramadulla Central) and Adithya Rodrigo (Gamini Central Nuwara Eliya) were presented the best batsman and best bowler (Spin) awards in the under-17 level.
