The Leo Club of SLIIT recently took a significant step towards improving access to clean water with their impactful project, ‘Diwidiya.’ This initiative, carried out at Karukkuliya Jayapala Vidyalaya in Puttalam, addressed a critical need for clean and safe drinking water in the region on 20th December 2024. For years, the lack of access to clean water had been a persistent challenge for the school and its surrounding community.

The Leos recognized this pressing need and stepped in to create change. By donating a water tank equipped with a proper tap line, the project now ensures a reliable supply of clean, safe water for daily use. This simple yet essential resource not only quenches thirst but also promotes health, hygiene, and overall well-being. More than just an act of charity, ‘Diwidiya’ embodies a vision for sustainable living. It highlights the importance of addressing environmental challenges with practical solutions that uplift entire communities. The smiles of the children and the gratitude of the villagers stand as testaments to the project’s profound impact.

With every drop of clean water that flows, ‘Diwidiya’ serves as a reminder of what can be achieved when compassion meets action. The Leo Club of SLIIT continues to inspire with their dedication to building a better, brighter, and more sustainable future.
