The Leo Club of SLIIT organized the project ‘Arunodhya’ at the Camilla School for individuals with Down syndrome on 21st December 2024. This event aimed to bring joy and raise awareness about the importance of inclusivity. This initiative, transformed an ordinary day into an extraordinary one, filled with laughter, music, and holiday cheer.

A surprise Christmas party was the highlight, with Santa Claus spreading festive joy and gifting each child chocolates, toys, and bright smiles. The club also donated essential dry foods and cleaning supplies to support the school. But the magic didn’t stop there—a lively musical session allowed the children to express themselves through music, sparking creativity and connection.

Our club advisor, 2nd Vice District Governor, Lion Dr. Susitha Senarathne PMJF PMAF, also joined us and played a vital role in making this project a success. Through Project ‘Arunodhya,’ the SLIIT Leos has taken a meaningful step towards fostering a community where differently-abled individuals are celebrated, supported, and given the tools to thrive.
