The 43rd anniversary and prize-giving of Colombo Ahadiyyah school (Muslim Daham Pasala) was held at the S. De S. Jayasinghe Hall, Dehiwela recently under the patronage of the Principal of the school N.P.M. Faiz.
The welcome address was delivered by the Chairman of the Organising Committee H.C. Althaf Cassim.
The ILm-ud-Deen souvenir was launched and the first copy was presented to the Guest of Honour, Hassim Omar by President of the Ahadiyyah School Ziqufi Ismail.
Awards and certificates were presented to the winners of the contests by the Chief Guest, Siraj Jabir, the Guest of Honour Hassim Omar and Guest speaker Dr. Athif Uvaim.
Students presented various items including a welcome song, an Islamic song, speeches in Sinhala and English including drama and Qaseeda.
Aabid Aslam received the best student of the year award. Vice President Haariz Rahman, Secretary Azard Ishak, parents, teachers, students and old boys were present.
